Consultancy services include the planning, design and implementation support to National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Sri Lanka (NWSDB) for construction of rural water supply facilities in the conflict areas of Jaffna and Kilinochchi districts in the Nothern Province of Sri Lanka. The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and executing by the NWSDB-Northern RSC. The overall objective of the project is to improve the quality of life and reduce poverty among selected rural communities and the returnees of internally displaced people during the conflict which existed for 30 years in the area, by way of providing drinking water supplies. Service of IDC includes water source investigations, preparation of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs, construction supervision, preparation of bidding documents, design of water browser mounted barge and improvement of docking sites and jetties and sump for unloading barged water and of a small control room.
IDC is providing consultancy services for Badulla, HaliEla and Ella integrated water supply project implemented jointly by Amerasian Corporation (AC) and Tetra Tech Inc, USA. Consultancy includes detailed design of all transmission lines, trunk mains and distribution systems, topographic surveys including the easement survey for offset pipe line routes, geotechnical investigations, production of construction drawings, preparation of BoQs, specifications and contract documents . The project is funded by American Exim Bank.
Consultancy assignment covers the preparation of engineering design of 11.5Km long transmission main, necessary bidding documents, assisting the Client, the Mineral Sands Corporation inthe process of tendering and selection of Contractors for Supplying & Laying of HDPE (SDR 11) pipeline from WTP to Factory premises, construction supervision of all associated civil works and quality assurance of construction.
